Ernie Anguiano
Born December 17, 1980 in Whittier, CA, credits both his mother and father as his inspiration and reason for his passion of art. At 16 Anguiano saw for the first time a Goya painting. Which lead him to cross over into the world of oils. In H.S. he joined the Art Department so he cold polish his skills. He learned fast and became obsessed with what he calls the “complexity of layering” in the oils medium. He is most influenced by Caravaggio, Goya & DaVinci. When asked what most inspires him, he says, “Subject matter. When I reach for the canvas I want my viewers to not just see an image, but rather to see something more. Whether it be history, or pain or hope. And if I’m lucky, a metaphor.”
